My book club told me I dominate the discussion too much...
After someone said I "always talk first and loudest" at our last meeting about The Goldfinch, I started taking notes before each session and waiting for 3 others to speak before jumping in, has anyone else had to change how they handle their group's dynamics?

Did you feel like you were holding back at first or did it come naturally to you? I used to think dominating a conversation just meant you were passionate about the topic, but reading your post made me realize it can actually shut others down. Taking notes and waiting sounds like a smart way to make sure everyone gets a turn.

Heard a podcast about conversation dynamics once where they talked about how some people talk first because they process out loud. The waiting thing is tough but it's good you're trying it, passion for books shouldn't come at the cost of others getting a word in.
