Serious question, has anyone else's club tried reading a book in a week instead of a month?
We did it with 'The Road' last month, and the debate was way more intense but also kind of shallow. Anyone have a good middle ground between a sprint and a marathon for pacing?

Try two weeks with a discussion halfway through.

That sounds like a really tough spot to be in. Having a check-in halfway through at least gives you a chance to adjust things. How did that middle talk actually go?

Honestly I used to hate the idea of a middle check-in, felt like extra work for no reason. But trying it that way totally flipped my view. Having that halfway talk stops small problems from blowing up into big ones. It just makes the whole two weeks feel way more manageable.

You've actually hit on something real there, didn't you? That halfway discussion is the whole game changer. It's like when you're working on a project and you just need a quick check to see if everyone's still on the same page before things get too far along. I've been in spots where skipping that middle talk meant wasted time and frustration on both sides. The trick is to keep it short and honest, not like a formal meeting. Just a quick "hey, how's this feeling so far, anything need tweaking?" can save a ton of headache later. Makes the whole two weeks feel way less like a gamble.
