Thought picking the shortest book on the list made me look smart, until book club night in March
For two years I was that guy who bragged about finishing the 180-page pick in three days, until our host asked why I skipped the last 40 pages of the actual discussion book and read the appendix instead. Turns out that paperback I grabbed at the library sale in Albany was a study guide, not the novel. Does anyone else check the cover twice before bragging, or is that just me?
