Vent: I used to let one loud voice run my whole book club, now we use a 3 minute timer
Last March our group of 9 got into a 40 minute fight over whether a character's choice in chapter 12 made sense, and two people quit before we even picked the next book. I got tired of it, so in April I brought a kitchen timer from home and set it to 3 minutes per person. First meeting with the timer felt awkward, but we got through 5 discussion questions in an hour instead of one. Now nobody gets talked over and the quiet folks in the back actually share their notes. If your club has that one member who swallows the conversation, how do you handle it without making it weird?
