Found a 1911 book press at an estate sale in Salem for $40 and the seller used it as a doorstop
Went to an estate sale in Salem last Saturday and spotted a cast iron book press holding open a garage door. The seller said it had been in the family for decades and nobody knew what it was, so I handed over 40 bucks and hauled it home. After a little rust removal the thing still presses signatures flat as ever, has anyone else rescued old binding gear from people who had no clue what they had?
