Spent $80 on a cheap bone folder and it fell apart in a week

I bought this bone folder off Amazon for about $80, thought I was saving money over the $30 ones at the craft store... big mistake. The tip chipped on my second book, and then the whole thing snapped in half when I was scoring some cardstock. I ended up buying a proper one from a local shop for $45, and it's been solid for months now. Anyone else had a tool fail like that from a bargain buy?

I read somewhere that a lot of cheap bone folders are made from resin instead of real bone, which makes them way weaker. Sounds like yours was one of those fakes. At least you got a good one now, that $45 one will probably outlast everything.
