Why did I wait so long to switch from bone folders to teflon?

For 8 years I used the same cheap bone folder on every project. Last month I finally spent $18 on a teflon folder and it's night and day difference. The teflon glides over paper without snagging or leaving that shiny mark. Really makes creasing book board feel effortless. Anyone else make a simple tool swap that changed their workflow?

Swapped to a self-healing cutting mat after using an old worn-out one for years, total game changer lol. No more weird tape residue or dull blades, just clean cuts every time.

you're totally right @phoenix_singh25, I had the same thing happen with my bone folder actually. I was using this old one that left this weird shiny streak on everything and I just figured that was normal. finally tried the teflon one and it's like night and day, no more burnishing or snagging at all.

the self-healing mat thing is so real, i had the same experience with mine lol. i was using this ancient cutting mat that had tons of slices and gouges in it and i thought that was just how it worked. then i got a new one and suddenly my blades lasted way longer and i wasn't fighting the paper to get clean cuts. also the tape residue thing stopped happening because i wasn't dragging old adhesive into everything. it's wild how much the little stuff adds up over time, like you don't notice how bad it is until you finally upgrade.
