Had to pick between a real person and an AI for a customer service chat last week

I chose the AI option because it was 7 PM on a Friday and the real person had a 45 minute wait, but the AI kept giving me wrong directions to the store and I ended up driving to the wrong side of town.

Watching companies cut corners and make life harder for everyone.

My buddy works in manufacturing and he says the opposite - cutting corners is what keeps prices from going totally insane these days.

And has he actually looked at what happens down the line when those corners come back to bite? Nobody talks about the hidden costs of cheaping out until something breaks and you're stuck with a mess that takes triple the time to fix.
