I finally hung that big mirror straight after 3 trys and my wife said it looked fine the first time.
Was at my brother-in-law's house in Phoenix last Saturday, tried to hang a 80 pound mirror in his entryway and the first two anchor points crumbled the drywall, had to patch holes and find studs instead, has anyone else had family act like your work doesnt matter?

@wade_kelly77 pretty much nailed it... three tries for something that heavy is basically a rite of passage. Your wife probably just didn't want you sweating it all day, not that deep.

Whoa hold on, I gotta push back a little on calling it "fine the first time." If your wife saw it level and it looked good to her, it probably was straight enough! But three tries isn't bad at all for a heavy mirror. Those big anchors in drywall can be super tricky. It took me four tries to hang a coat rack in my garage last month, and my wife just shook her head the whole time. So don't take it personally, she probably just didn't want you stressing over a few inches of tilt. At least you got it up and it didn't crash down!
