Just realized that 'helpful' Reddit comment I've been reposting for years was obviously written by an AI the whole time.

I copy pasted this same explanation about fixing Gmail lag into 12 threads over 3 years before someone pointed out the exact same phrasing showed up in a YouTube tutorial from 2021 and now I feel like an idiot, has anyone else caught themselves recycling bot-sounding advice?

Three years back i copy-pasted this whole spiel about Samsung fridge error codes into like 8 different appliance forums before my buddy asked me "dude did you just google that" and yeah it was literally the first result on a repair site from 2016. Now im convinced half my reddit karma is just me being a human bot for outdated fixes i dont even understand. At least we are all in this together pretending we know stuff we clearly just got from the internet first.

Man that's rough but you're definitely not alone, I did the same thing with a whole wall of text about fixing Windows startup times that turned out to be copy pasted from a 2018 PCWorld article. It stung pretty bad when someone called me out for basically being a bot myself without even knowing it. Now I double check anything I copypasta because that feeling of being the fake helpful guy is the worst.
