My AI detector flagged my own grandma in a knitting group
Tbh I joined this group to spot bots in craft forums, but last Sunday my 78 year old grandma posted a perfectly worded reply about yarn tension and my tool said 94% AI. I called her and she laughed, said she uses voice text now because her arthritis makes typing hurt. That got me thinking, I used to judge bots by flawless grammar, but now real people sound robotic too. Has anyone else had a false positive on someone they actually know?

The voice text thing is exactly what tripped me up too. My dad sends these long messages that read like a press release and I kept flagging him as a bot. Turns out he just talks into his phone while he walks the dog, and the text app cleans it up into perfect sentences. No typos, no weird caps, nothing. So now when people say they judge bots by sloppy typing, that doesn't work anymore because half of them never type at all. Best thing to do is look at what they say, not how it's written. Your grandma knows yarn tension because she's been doing it for decades. A bot can write clean English but it can't tell you why your stitches keep dropping on the second row.
