That chatbot I argued with about pizza toppings was too good at debating

So last night I was bored and got into a whole back and forth with this customer service bot about pineapple on pizza. I was just messing around, told it that pineapple was a crime against humanity. It came back with three solid arguments about sweet and savory balance, referenced some food science study from 2021, and even quoted a chef from Chicago. After 20 minutes of this, I honestly couldn't tell if I was talking to a person or just a really advanced script. Has a bot ever won you over on something you were dead set against?

Gotta correct your buddy on the flat earth thing... Eratosthenes used a stick and a well, but it was actually the shadow difference between two cities that let him figure out the Earth's circumference. Your friend's story is still a good example of how bots can make you question yourself though. They're way too good at staying patient while pulling up facts you'd have to Google for ten minutes to find.

Man I had a buddy who argued with a bot for like an hour about whether the earth was round. He was just trolling at first, saying it was all a government hoax. That thing came back with satellite photos, talked about how ships disappear over the horizon, even broke down how Eratosthenes measured it with a stick and a well thousands of years ago. My friend told me he actually started second guessing himself for a second (he's not a flat earther or anything, just a jerk who likes messing with stuff). He said the bot was so calm and patient that it made him feel like the unreasonable one, which I guess is kinda the point of those things.
