That feedback from a Reddit user made me ditch my bot detection method completely

Some user in a deepfake thread pointed out I was only checking eye blinks and lip sync, which most AI videos nail now. They said to look at the background shadows and how light hits surfaces instead. I switched my check process after that and caught 3 fakes I missed before. Anyone else change their detection method after a random comment?

Hold up though, isn't it risky to toss out a whole detection method based on one random persons advice? That comment might have been right this time but you could be missing other tells they didn't mention.

Man that's rough but I'm honestly glad you listened instead of just brushing it off. So many people get defensive about their methods and miss out on actual improvements. It's pretty wild how fast these fakes are getting good at the basics like blinking and lip movement.

Three weeks ago I tested a batch of these fakes and the blinking was still janky on half of them. But @logan_wood has a point about people getting defensive, I've seen folks stick with a bad method just because they spent time learning it. Still, I wouldn't call it "wild" just yet, the lip sync still glitches out if the lighting changes even a little bit.
