That Instagram influencer with the perfect morning routine turned out to be a bot account

I was in a coffee shop in Portland last month scrolling through this girl's super detailed posts about waking up at 5am and journaling for an hour, then I reverse image searched her photos and they were all AI generated. Has anyone else fallen for one of these fake accounts?

This one time at a bar in Denver this guy was bragging about his girlfriend who posted these wild travel photos every week from like Bali and Iceland. Turned out her whole account was a stock photo subscription he bought for 20 bucks. Kinda made me wonder how many of those perfect lifestyle accounts are just people messing around with filters and stolen pics.

@Gavin_kim that stock photo thing is wild but honestly the craziest part is how many people actually fall for it. my cousin works in marketing and says half the "influencers" brands pay are running on stolen content from pinterest boards and old tumblr archives. they just crop out the watermarks and slap a pastel filter on it. whole industry is a house of cards built on pictures of other people's avocado toast.
