Dating app bios got weirdly good at passing the vibe check
Last week I matched with someone whose profile had jokes that actually landed, like real specific ones about her cat knocking over plants. That got me thinking, three years ago I could spot a bot in two swipes because they all used the same five overused phrases. Now I swear some of these profiles read better than half my human friends write. I spent an hour last night comparing screenshots with my buddy in Austin, and we couldn't agree on which ones were AI. One profile even replied to my opener about disc golf with a perfect follow-up question about my favorite course. That's the part that scares me, the conversation flows natural until they ask for my number in a weird way. Has anyone else noticed the bots getting smoother on Hinge specifically, or is it just me?

Did you try asking them about something super random, like their opinion on pineapple pizza? That usually trips up the AI ones for me, they either dodge it or agree too quickly.

Try the classic "what's the last thing you watched" follow up. If they name something super specific and recent, probably real, but if it's all vague or generic, yeah, bot.
