Question about the 'typing speed' trick for spotting bots in dating app chats

I matched with someone on Hinge last Wednesday and we got into a pretty deep convo about vinyl records. Then they dropped a reply that was like 300 words in under 10 seconds, which felt off. I mean, I type fast but not that fast, and the punctuation was perfect every time. It got me thinking about how we use response time as a clue, but maybe that's getting less reliable now with AI assist keyboards. Has anyone else run into this where the bot tells are changing, or is it still just the generic compliments and weird grammar that give them away?

Flip it around and watch for consistency in their speed. A real human will have some variation, they'll take 5 minutes on a short answer sometimes and then blast out a quick one. But these AI assisted chats tend to be unnervingly even, like they're always typing at the same pace no matter how complex the topic gets. I had one match who would reply in about 45 seconds every single time, rain or shine, and it turned out she was using some compose feature on her phone. So don't just time the fast ones, look at the slow ones too. The bots rarely fake a good long pause with a sloppy typo after it, that's the tell for me lately.
