My 'easy care' Venus flytrap got scorched by tap water last week

I figured a little sink water wouldn't hurt, but it turned all the traps black and crispy... Has anyone else killed a plant this way or am I the only one?

Yep, tap water is basically poison for those things.

Jokes on me then cause I've been watering my poor houseplants with tap water for years and they just quietly suffer in silence. My spider plant looks like it went three rounds with a lawn mower and lost. Honestly surprised my cactus hasn't called plant protective services on me yet.
