My neighbor's comment about my dying philodendron made me rethink everything
I had this big philodendron in my living room that was losing leaves and looking sad for months. My neighbor who gardens a lot walked by and said "you're drowning that thing, give it a break on the water." I was watering it every 3 days thinking more was better, but after cutting back to once a week and letting the soil dry out, it's got 5 new leaves sprouting. Anyone else overwater their plants because they thought it showed more care?

Calm down, it's just a plant and you figured out the problem in like 5 seconds, not exactly a life crisis.

Try watering it less often, Evan. Let the soil dry out completely first.
