My prize orchid lost all its flowers overnight and I almost cried
Last Tuesday I came down to my kitchen and my $75 Phalaenopsis orchid had dropped every single bloom on the counter. Turns out I left it too close to a drafty window during that cold snap we had. I trimmed the spike and moved it to a warmer spot near the humidifier, so now I'm just hoping it spikes again by spring. Has anyone else had an orchid totally bail on them from a temperature swing like that?

Read something once about how orchids are dramatic AF when they get stressed, and they'll drop blooms almost instantly to save energy. Your Phal will probably bounce back if you just baby it for a bit, give it some indirect light and keep it away from any cold drafts. I had a Dendrobium do the same thing last winter after I left it near an open window during a frost warning. Lost all its flowers in like two days, but it pushed out a new spike a few months later once I kept it consistently warm.

Heard the same thing actually, orchids are just extra in every way when they're unhappy.
