My spider plant was dying until I tried a trick with a glass of water

I had this big spider plant in my apartment for about a year and it just kept getting brown tips and limp leaves. I tried moving it, changing my watering, everything. Last week, I was ready to give up. Then I remembered something my grandma used to do. I took a clear glass, filled it with tap water, and left it out on the counter for a full 24 hours before I watered the plant with it. I guess it lets the chlorine or something evaporate. I did that for three waterings now, and the new growth is actually green and firm, no brown edges. It sounds too simple, but it worked. Has anyone else found a weird little fix like this for a specific plant?

Wait, does that work for other plants too? I might try that with my peace lily that's been looking sad.

Yeah, peace lilies can totally bounce back. @taylor_patel, if the leaves are drooping, try giving it a really good soak in the sink until water runs out the bottom. They often just get super thirsty. Just make sure it's not sitting in water afterward.

Did you check the roots for rot first?
