The guy at the plant swap in Akron told me my pothos pot was a swamp, so now I check drainage holes first
I brought three pothos cuttings to a plant swap at a library in Akron last month and this older woman poked the soil in my biggest one and said "honey, this is soup with roots in it." I was a little annoyed until I got home and saw the yellow leaves I had been blaming on light were actually from a pot with no drainage hole. Now I drill a hole in every pot and mix in perlite before anything goes in, which sounds obvious but apparently I needed a stranger to call my soil soup. What's the tell you look for first before you buy a pot at a swap?
