TIL the city park in Springfield has a plaque naming every tree species

I counted 27 different types on my walk yesterday, which really shows their effort. Has your town done anything similar to highlight local plants?

My buddy in Oakdale got super into this last year. His town put up little signs with QR codes next to all the big native shrubs. He spent a whole Saturday scanning them like a maniac, trying to learn all the names. He said it was cool at first, but half the links were broken by the next month, which is so typical for our city's projects, lmao. He still points at a bush and calls it "that one with the dead link" when we walk by.

Oh man, that reminds me of the time our library tried a QR code scavenger hunt for kids. They stuck codes inside books to unlock little videos about the authors. It was a cute idea, but they used some free hosting site that went down after like a week. I found a bunch of sad little printed arrows pointing to nothing. Felt bad for the librarian who probably spent hours setting it up.
