My neighbor's ivy took down 15 feet of my chain link fence in about 4 months last year. I planted mint in my garden for a fresh herb supply and it ate half my flower bed in a single season. Guess I'm not one to judge aggressive plants either.

Wait, are you sure the ivy actually took down the fence on its own? I’ve seen ivy pull down stuff that was already wobbly, but roots usually don’t wreck chain link that fast unless there was rot underneath.

Funny how plants just do what they want, no matter our plans.

Wait, did the ivy actually kill the fence or just cover it? Curious if the roots caused the damage or if the weight just snapped the panels. Sounds like you might need to check what's left of the structure underneath.
