Went to the Botanical Garden in Denver and something bugged me about their labeling system
Everyone raves about how educational those gardens are, but the plant labels there are mostly just Latin names and origin countries. I wanted to know which ones are actually native to Colorado and which are invasive imports, but they didn't bother to mark that. Has anyone else noticed this sort of thing at big public gardens?

@cole_murphy right? Pretty labels over real info is just garden variety dumb.

Pretty labels are just nature's version of putting makeup on a pig (and I'd know, I've worn enough bad makeup in my day).

Doesn't that kind of lazy labeling bleed into everything now... seems like public spaces are getting more concerned with looking good than actually teaching people anything useful. I noticed the same thing at a local nature preserve where they labeled the trees with fancy names but wouldn't tell you which ones were killing off the native oaks. It's like they think we can't handle real information so they just give us the pretty version.
