Blew $340 on a used mortar mixer that seized up on the second job
Bought a used paddle mixer off a guy in Garland for $340 because my drill kept burning out on big batches of type S. It ran fine for one job, then the gearbox locked up halfway through a chimney rebuild and I finished the whole thing by hand with a hoe and a tub. Took it to a repair shop and the guy quoted me $260 just to look at the gears, so I sold it for scrap at $40. Now I'm back to mixing in a wheelbarrow and honestly it's slower but it never quits on me. Anyone got a mixer under $500 that actually holds up, or should I just stay with the wheelbarrow?
