Blew a corner on a 12 foot wall in Fort Worth because I skipped the story pole
Had a job last month in Fort Worth, a long garden wall, and I got cocky and skipped setting a story pole. By the time I got to the far corner I was off by almost 3/4 of an inch and the bond looked crooked from the street. Tore down about 40 bricks and laid the last two courses twice, which ate my whole Saturday morning. Now I keep a story pole handy on anything over 8 feet, even when the wall looks simple. Any of you got a shortcut for quick corner checks besides the level and the 3-4-5?
