Dropped $300 on a fancy trowel that I barely use now

Bought this expensive marshalltown carbon steel trowel about 6 months ago thinking it would make my work way cleaner and faster. Thing is nice and all but honestly my old $40 trowel does the same job. I got caught up in the hype seeing guys on instagram using them. Now it just sits in my box collecting dust. Anyone else fall for the overpriced tool trap?

That expensive trowel trap got me too with a fancy hammer I barely touch.

@jana769 that "fancy hammer I barely touch" hits close to home. I kept one of those expensive trowels in a drawer for two years before I finally admitted I was just scared to mess up a perfect edge on it. Best thing I ever did was sell it to a guy who actually uses it and buy a mid-range one that I can beat up without guilt. Funny how a tool that cost half as much ends up doing twice the work when you're not afraid to use it properly.
