Finished the brick edging on my neighbor's garden path today

It was a small job, but seeing it all lined up straight is so satisfying. The homeowner was really happy with how it turned out.

Oh that's optimistic. That clean line is just a promise to future weeds. Give it three months and those cracks will look like a tiny botanical garden. The nod from the homeowner is basically them saying "this is your problem now, see you next spring.

Back when my neighbor had his driveway redone, the crew left those perfect edges you're talking about. (It looked like a magazine photo for about a week.) Fast forward to summer, and dandelions had basically staged a takeover in every gap. The funny part was he started calling it his 'low maintenance eco zone' instead of dealing with it.
