Finished the brick edging on my neighbor's garden path today
It was a small job, but seeing it all lined up straight is so satisfying. The homeowner was really happy with how it turned out.

Yeah, that clean line just makes the whole space look intentional, you know? It's funny how such a small detail can totally finish off a project. Makes you wonder if they'll keep up with the weeding in those cracks, or if that'll be next year's problem. Still, getting that nod from the homeowner is what makes the dust and sore knees worth it.

Nature always wins that race, weeds show up way sooner than you'd think.

Oh that's optimistic. That clean line is just a promise to future weeds. Give it three months and those cracks will look like a tiny botanical garden. The nod from the homeowner is basically them saying "this is your problem now, see you next spring.

Back when my neighbor had his driveway redone, the crew left those perfect edges you're talking about. (It looked like a magazine photo for about a week.) Fast forward to summer, and dandelions had basically staged a takeover in every gap. The funny part was he started calling it his 'low maintenance eco zone' instead of dealing with it. Makes you wonder if that nod is just relief the job is done, not a promise to maintain it.
