Pro tip: don't let a GC rush your mortar set on a Friday pour
So last Thursday I'm laying block on a retaining wall job in Council Bluffs and the GC keeps hounding me to strike the joints faster so his concrete guys can pour the cap. I told him the mortar needed to set up more but he wouldn't hear it, and by Saturday two courses had shifted about a quarter inch. Now I'm the one chipping out 40 blocks and redoing it on my own dime. Any of you deal with a super who thinks mortar cures on his schedule instead of the wall's?
