PSA: Your mortar joints are lying to you in the rain

Tbh, I spent 3 hours last Tuesday on a patio job near Akron fixing joints that looked perfect when I left them the night before. The next morning they were all pitted and soft, and my customer said 'did you even mix the mud right?' Ngl, the issue was I was striking too early and the dew got into the finish before it cured. Has anyone else dealt with this on morning pours, or am I the only one who learned this the hard way in 2024?
