The way we handle brick ties on high walls is totally different now
Back in the day, we just slapped them in every 16 inches and called it good. No real plan. Did a big apartment job in Cincinnati about 8 years ago, and the wind load specs were a joke. Now, with more codes and bigger panels, we have to map it all out first. I use a laser level to mark every single tie location before the first brick goes up. It adds maybe 30 minutes to the layout, but saves hours of guesswork. The inspector last week said it was the cleanest tie-in he'd seen all month. What's your method for planning out ties on a tall, straight run?

Saw a buddy's whole wall fail inspection over one misplaced tie.

Maybe the inspector was having a really bad day.

That seems harsh for one tie. Inspectors around here usually just write it up as a correction, they don't fail the whole wall.
