Torn between laying block wet or waiting for shade on a 90 degree day in Phoenix
Had a 40 foot wall to lay last Tuesday and my mortar was setting up faster than I could butter the joints, so I wet the block first instead of waiting for the sun to move. It worked but I lost the bond on two courses and had to pull them out, cost me about an hour. Anyone got a better trick for beating the heat on block work, or do you just start at 5am like my old foreman kept telling me?
