I compared canned beans to dried beans and the difference is insane.

I always bought canned because it was easier, but after trying dried beans for a chili last month, I saved like $8 per batch and the texture was way better. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed a big difference in flavor?

My first batch of dried beans turned into soup because I forgot to set a timer, so that's where I'm at with this.

Forgot to set a timer" - sorry to nitpick, but with dried beans you really gotta soak them first before cooking or they'll never soften right, timer or no timer. So if you're just dumping dry beans in a pot and boiling them, that's probably why they turned to mush.

lol it's wild how we convince ourselves convenience is worth the extra cost until we actually try the real thing.
