I was a frozen vegetable snob until the store brand mixed veggies hit $1.29 a bag

Always thought fresh was the only way to go, but after a rough week I grabbed the store brand frozen mix and honestly it's fine for stir fries and soups. Has anyone else found themselves eating crow on some cheap staple they used to look down on?

Oh man, "eating crow" is the perfect way to put it. I used to look down my nose at canned tomatoes but now I buy the store brand crushed tomatoes by the case for chili and pasta sauce, saves me a ton and nobody can taste the difference. What's the one thing you stubbornly bought fresh for the longest time?

@walker.julia see I'm the opposite, I still buy fresh garlic because that jarred stuff always tastes a little metallic to me. But I'll admit I finally gave up on freshly grating Parmesan and now buy the pre-shredded bag.

Frozen garlic was my last holdout, thought I was too good for the pre-minced stuff. Finally grabbed a jar of the refrigerated chopped garlic at Costco and honestly it's a game changer for weeknight cooking. Sure I still buy fresh bulbs for when I'm doing something special but for everyday use that jar stuff saves me so much time and mess on my cutting board.
