My big bag of rice split open right as I was about to make dinner
I was in my kitchen last night, getting ready to make a big pot of beans and rice, when the 20lb bag of rice I bought on sale just gave out. Rice went everywhere, all over the floor and counter. I didn't want to waste it, so I spent like 20 minutes carefully scooping the clean top layer from the counter back into a big jar. I still had enough for the meal, and it turned out fine. Has anyone else had a kitchen staple disaster right before cooking? What did you do to save it?

Oh man, that reminds me of the time I knocked over an entire open canister of flour. It was like a tiny white explosion in my kitchen. I just stood there for a second, covered in it, before grabbing the broom. I think I was finding dusty footprints for a week after.

Feel your pain. Why do these things always happen when you're already hungry?

Ugh, that's the worst! I once dropped a full jar of spaghetti sauce right as I was about to heat it up. Red sauce and glass shards everywhere, and I'm just standing there starving. Took forever to clean.
