PSA: Stop buying those tiny spice jars at the store
I used to grab the little glass jars for like $6 each, thinking it was fine. Then my friend took me to an Indian market in Phoenix and showed me the bulk bags. I got a pound of cumin for $4, same quality. It lasts me almost a year and I just refill my old jar. How did I not know about this sooner? What other ingredients have you guys found way cheaper at ethnic grocery stores?

Convenient? Maybe for the first week. Then you're shaking a nearly empty jar over a hot pan every other day. I switched to buying big bags of stuff like turmeric and coriander from a local spot. I keep one small jar in the cabinet and the bag in a dark cupboard. Refilling it takes two seconds and I never run out mid recipe. It's the opposite of a hassle.

But those little jars are just so much more convenient though.

Forget the jars. They're a total waste trap. You end up with a drawer full of empties you feel bad tossing. I just refill one big container from the bulk bins. Saves money, cuts down on clutter, and it's honestly just as easy once you make it a habit.
