Rant: leftover makeover night is ruining my grocery budget

Everyone brags that Wednesday leftover night saves cash, but my house in Omaha saw the opposite. We went from $80 weekly food cost to $110 once we started doing it, because we cook extra portions for it. The problem is we eat less of the fresh meal and then toss half the reheated stuff after 3 days. Has anyone else tracked their actual numbers or is it just my crew?
