Shoutout to the deli counter at the Food4Less on 8th Street for selling me a 2lb bag of chicken leg quarters for $3.50. That's a whole protein for a week.

Ever try to stretch a deal like that? I got a pack of chicken thighs last month and made a big pot of soup, then shredded the rest for tacos and a casserole. It's crazy how far a few bucks can go if you're willing to get a little creative in the kitchen. That's the kind of win that makes the whole grocery trip feel better.

That "win" feeling is pretty short lived when you're eating the same chicken for five days straight. It just gets boring and feels like you're punishing yourself for being on a budget. Doesn't that make it harder to stick to cooking at home?
