Spent $12 on a bag of dried beans and it made 18 meals

I bought a 5 pound bag of pinto beans at the bulk store last month for $12. After soaking and cooking them all in one afternoon, I got enough for 18 servings that I froze in portions. Has anyone else crunched the numbers on how much cheaper dried beans are compared to canned?

Heard dried beans are 75% cheaper than canned. Crazy savings.

Wait, 75 percent? That can't be right, can it? I mean, I know canned stuff has a markup for the can and the processing, but that's a huge gap. Like, you could buy four bags of dried beans for the price of one can?

Yeah dried beans are way cheaper but man do I ever forget to soak them. By the time I remember it's 6pm and I'm hungry now not in 3 hours. Prepping food the night before just isn't in my skill set apparently.
