Surprised that frozen veggies actually saved my grocery budget

I always thought fresh produce was the only way to go, but after I lost a whole bag of spinach in 3 days last summer, I caved and bought a $1.50 bag of frozen mixed veggies. Turns out they last for months and taste just as good in stir fries and soups without the waste. Anyone else make the switch and find it actually works?

Funny how we grow up thinking fresh is always better, but frozen stuff skips the waste and saves money across the board if you ask me.

Totally get what you mean. I started buying frozen veggies a couple years ago (especially the bags of broccoli and mixed bell peppers) and honestly I don't even miss fresh for most weeknight meals. What really sealed it for me was realizing I could toss them straight into a pan without any chopping or worrying they'd go bad in the fridge by Wednesday. Saved me like $20 a month just on produce that used to get slimy and thrown out.

So do you roast them straight from frozen or do you thaw them first?
