Chose a flat fee lawyer over hourly for my LLC, saved $1,400 but...

When I set up my LLC in Austin last spring, every lawyer I called quoted hourly rates between $250 and $400. One guy wanted a $2,000 retainer just to draft operating agreements. I found a flat fee firm that did the whole package for $1,800, so I went with them. The paperwork was done in 5 days and it all looked solid, but when I asked them to review a client contract last month, they said that's not covered and quoted me another $600. So I ended up paying my old corporate lawyer friend $150 to look it over instead. Has anyone else hit this wall where flat fee deals stop making sense once you need actual advice down the road?

Flip that logic around though, you saved $1,400 upfront and got exactly what you paid for, a finished filing, and now you're complaining about paying for a separate service you didn't buy. That's like buying a burger and getting mad they didn't throw in free fries when you came back hungry for them.
