Finally got a lawyer to look at my contract before signing it last month

I run a small shop and last month I almost signed a lease renewal that had a hidden auto-renewal clause. My buddy who does contract law spotted it in ten minutes. That one review saved me from being stuck for another five years. Do you guys ever run leases past a lawyer before signing or just wing it?

Man that's rough, glad your buddy caught it in time. I've seen too many small business owners get burned by sneaky fine print like that. Always worth having someone look it over first.
