I ignored a $36 registered agent service for 2 whole months and it cost me
When I filed my LLC papers in Boise last October, the state site asked for a registered agent address and I just typed in my own apartment. Two months later a certified letter from a vendor's lawyer showed up there and my roommate signed for it, then it sat on the counter for nine days while I was out of town. I finally caved and paid $36 a year for a registered agent service so someone always signs for legal mail, and honestly that little fee feels like nothing now. Has anyone else had a piece of legal mail go missing because it went to a home address instead of a formal agent?
