Serious question about that independent contractor agreement I signed last month
I signed a contract with a client in Denver for a 6 month project that said I was an independent contractor but they're requiring me to use their software, be in their office from 9-5, and report to a manager daily, so is this actually an employee situation that could get me in trouble with the IRS or am I overthinking it?

The IRS would definitely call that an employee, not a contractor.

Are you sure about that though? In my experience the IRS looks at a few key factors like how much control the company has over your schedule. @nancy_king29 I actually had a similar setup last year as a contractor for a small dental office and I set my own hours and used my own tools which made it work. Your mileage may vary but I think it really comes down to the specifics of your arrangement.
