Showerthought: my CPA told me an oral handshake deal is fine, my lawyer said get it in writing, now I don't know who to believe
Talked to my accountant Dave in Cleveland last week about a $15,000 supplier deal and he said a handshake works fine if both sides trust each other, but my lawyer said the exact opposite and told me a verbal deal is almost impossible to enforce in court. Dave has run his own shop for 22 years so I tend to trust him, but my lawyer charges $300 an hour for a reason. Which one would you listen to here, and does the dollar amount change your answer?
