Had a regular tell me I changed how he cooks steak last week
This older guy named Dave comes in every Saturday for a chuck roast. Last week he told me I'm the reason he stopped buying pre-trimmed ribeyes from the grocery store. Said I showed him how to cut his own from a primal and save like $4 a pound. Felt pretty good honestly. Anyone else get feedback like that from customers?

You know you're doing something right when a regular gives you that kind of credit.

That kind of loyalty really does stand out in a world where everything seems so temporary these days. People have so many choices for where to eat or shop, so when somebody goes out of their way to keep coming back, it says a lot about the connection being made. It's not just about the food or the product, it's about feeling seen and appreciated in a way that's become pretty rare. I notice it at my local grocery store too, the cashier who remembers my usual items makes the whole errand feel more human. Those small, consistent moments of recognition are what build real community in a neighborhood.

My buddy Mark works at that pizza place downtown, the one with the brick oven. This one guy comes in every Tuesday like clockwork and always gets the same thing. Last week the guy told Mark he actually moved his schedule around so he could still come on Tuesdays. Mark said he almost dropped the pizza he was holding. He told me that kind of stuff doesn't happen often but when it does it makes the whole shift worth it. Have you ever had a regular do something like that?
