Serious question, why do so many butchers ignore wrist support?
I've seen too many guys cutting without proper wrist braces. After ten years, my wrists are always sore from the same motions all day. Buying a simple support strap when you start can prevent serious injury later. It's a small step that makes a big difference in how long you can work.

You're right about buying a support strap early. Many butchers skip it because they feel strong and don't notice the strain at first. That daily repetition wears down your joints over time, not just in a year but across decades. I've watched older guys leave the trade because their hands just gave out. Preventing that slow damage is way easier than trying to heal it later. Starting with good habits is what keeps you in the game for the long haul.

Argue against @the_blake, ngl, since skipping straps can build tougher joints naturally.

Saw a buddy ditch straps for years, his wrists are shot now.

Ever think that toughing it out without straps was the way to go? I used to believe that too, but seeing stories like @wilson.olivia's buddy changed my mind. It's easy to feel strong now, but that daily strain adds up over years. The slow damage from repetition isn't obvious until it's too late, just like @the_blake said. Now I see that using support early is about staying in the game longer, not being weak. Stopping that wear and tear is way smarter than trying to fix it later.
