Shoutout to the $12 label maker that saved me from a $200 mistake
I almost bought a second set of shelving for my garage last weekend. Before I did, I grabbed a cheap label maker and tagged every bin with what was actually inside. That is when I found out I already owned three tubes of silicone caulk I thought I had lost. So instead of spending $200 on shelves I did not need, I spent $12 and about an hour going through bins. The big lesson here is that most of my "I need to buy this" moments are really just "I can't find my stuff" moments. If I had walked into the store first, I would have walked out with shelves and a receipt I'd regret. When was the last time a five minute check saved you from a dumb purchase?
