Client asked for soft-close doors, then complained they were too heavy to push
Last month I finished a kitchen for a couple in Portland, 14 shaker doors with soft close hinges, Blum hardware like they requested. They called me three days later saying the doors were hard to close, so I drove out and showed them you just give it a slight push and the mechanism takes over. The wife actually said, "Well, I didn't think I'd have to use any force at all." I feel like people expect magic, not basic physics. Has anyone else had to explain how soft close actually works to a client before?

That soft close just means it won't slam, not that it closes itself.

Nah, soft close is for people who slam doors on accident.
