Dropped $340 on a used Castle pocket hole machine and it paid for itself in 6 weeks
I build face frame cabinets in a two car garage in Boise and was drilling pocket holes by hand with a Kreg jig for 3 years. Bought a used Castle TSM-22 for $340 off a guy closing his shop in Nampa, and honestly I almost walked away because it looked rough. Six weeks later I had cranked out 11 face frames for a kitchen job and my elbow pain was gone. The air clamp alone cuts each hole to under 2 seconds and my joints are dead square now. Anyone else running an old Castle or does everyone just go with the newer Foreman model?
Used Castle machines are the way to go if you can find one that a shop actually maintained. That $340 is nothing when the Foreman runs 3 grand new and the TSM-22 does the same job, just louder. Check the air cylinder seals first if you buy another one, that's where the money hides on these old units.
